A human being is a creature that tries to economize on personal recourses and he will do any action (especially if it is connected with considerable input of time and efforts) after he has an understanding for what he needs to do it and what profit or benefit he will get.
Ability to speak and think in a positive way requires great efforts, that’s why we need to “help” our organism do that effectively and willingly.
We can get the information about positive thinking in books by Deutsch, Heche, Jose Silva, Emile Coue, Sytin and many others.
We can distinguish 3 basic directions in all this diversity of Positive Thinking variants:
1. Positive statements – “Affirmations”.
2. Positive attitude – hope that everything will be good, I will cope with everything.
3. Positive thinking – ability to see the world in a “right” way.
Now let’s take a look at each of this variant separately:
Positive statements or affirmations are utterances with the stress on that a man wants to have (abilities, qualities, skills, relations). They are formed with regard to the future. A basic affirmation sounds like this: “With every coming day in my life I am doing better and better”. The author of this masterpiece is Emile Coue who managed to change life of many people to the better. Also we can recall such affirmations as:
“Every day I become more and more lucky”
“The flow of money is increasing constantly in my life”
“I am the best seller and my skills to sell become better and better every day”.
With the help of our intellect we prepare ourselves to positive changes that will happen in our near future or happening now, at present. Positive affirmations work best if they are pronounced in the morning (positive attitude for the whole day) and in the evening (foundation for subconsciousness), each affirmation should be repeated three times.
Positive attitude is inner mood or belief that we are able (we will manage) to do anything. The key words in such thinking are “I can”, “I am worth”, “I will manage”, “I will do” and the motto for people with positive thinking is “If not me than who?”
With such phrases we approach to the present:
“I will run in this cross to the end! I can do this”.
First of all, we always use “I”. And we know that letter “I” in the life of a successful person is the very first letter. If a person says “I am responsible for this”, so this person is ready to be a leader or has already become a leader.
One representative of a big company came to our Leader Seminar. But before the seminar he called and said that he would not be able to come in time on the first day of the seminar and that he would be late for one or two days. But suddenly he came on time.
We asked him what had happened.
He said that in his city the planes fly only to the city “X” or “Z” but they do not fly to the city “Y” (where the seminar should be). But he said that he was in the firm belief that he would come to the seminar on time.
Than he said he was called from the airport and said that they had a ticket to the city “Y”. He was surprised very much as he knew that planes do not fly from his city to the city where the seminar should be. He asked to double check everything once again, they answered that usually they do not have such flights but that day it was an exclusive one.
So this man came for the seminar on time and he said (at the beginning of the training we have one moment when all the participants tell what positive happened to them the day before). “I would like to tell how positive attitude affects our life. I’ve never thought that planes will fly where I want and when I want. They even called me themselves and offered a ticket. This is all weird, but I am happy that I am with you!”
Positive attitude can also tire different events for personal benefit, for example such events like rain and results of the job. If today it is raining, the day will be successful for me. If it rains hard the day will be more successful than I expected. Logical connection does not matter here. The most important is your attitude. You’ve broken a plate – it is fortune, you’ve soiled your clothes outdoors – you’ll get money, you’ve soiled your clothes very much – you’ll get a lot of money!))
Basically, negative example are for pessimists, positive are for optimists. It is only up to us what to decide if you’ve broken a mirror whether it is fortune or misfortune.
So what is positive thinking in fact? It is statements and thoughts based on positive description of events or processes. For example if a person is not stupid he is clever, not poor – but rich, etc.
There is a well-known example about a half empty and half poured glass. An optimist perceives the glass as half poured (half-filled) but a pessimist perceives as half empty one. The glass did not change any way. But one person is oftener glad with such world perception and another is oftener dull or depressed. Only we ourselves decide how to react on any event in our life.
Let’s consider one story about two kids. Some parents had two sons, twins. One of them was an optimist and another one was a pessimist. An optimist was fine in his life and parents did not think much what to present him for his birthday. But they were puzzled what to present another kid, who was a pessimist. And they decided to present a wooden rocking horse. As for their optimistic sun, parents decided to play a little trick on him and put near his bed some horse-dung. The kid with negative attitude got up in the morning and looked sadly at the horse and said: “Oh, the horse is not of the color I wanted, it does not ride, I need to carry it. What will I do with it, where will I put it in my small room?” The parents got upset; again they could not please their child. So, what happened to the optimist? Did he get upset? The optimist said: “Cool! My parents presented me a real alive horse. Here is even her dung, she might have gone for a walk!”
There is one phrase, well-known for men. A man asks a woman: “Are you ready to come out, honey?” Women usually answer: “I can not come out now”. In positive this phrase sounds as “I can come out in half an hour”. What is different in positive thinking? In what period of time does positive thinking exist? It exists in the present. We do not make our mood, we do not create affirmations, we describe the same events in positive way basing on the present.
Let’s consider several negative phrases and how they will sound from the point of view of affirmations, positive thinking and positive attitude.
For example, a phrase:
“I do not have money to buy a gas stove costing $500”.
How will an affirmation sound if I do not have money? – “Every day I earn more and more”. Or – “I easily earn $500” or – “I easily earn money for domestic utensils”. These are the examples of affirmations.
Such phrases are peculiar for positive attitude: I will be able, I will do, I deserve and the motto ”if not me than who?”. It will sound like this: “I can earn $500 for a new stove”. Or “I can earn and find the money I need for a new gas stove”, “I can find $500 to buy a new stove”.
Note, that we did not specify where we will find: at your husband, in the street, etc. What is the most important in this phrase? – “I can”. It is your inner attitude that you can do this. And positive thinking: if you do not have $500 now, how much do you have? – I have $100 now. Or, “I can save now $100 now for a new stove”. And at the same time you must take away this sum of money for saving.
In the first case we create an affirmation “Every day I earn more and more. The flow of money is increasing constantly in my life….” We create a key phrase which then, constantly repeating, we will use for our personal benefit. Such phrases influence our subconsciousness, it is gradually reconstructing and we can easily perceive money. In the second case we make sure that we deserve, we can, we are able. The key phrase starts from the words “I can”, “I will be able”. In the third case we perceive and describe the existing situation basing on positive, optimistic view on life.
For example, you call to your colleague and he says: “I am ill”.
What will be the affirmation in this case? – “All the illnesses leave me and my body and my soul become stronger every day”. Sytin says: “The cells of my organism become younger and stronger”, or “My body is getting younger and healthy”.
Positive attitude: “I feel well and I am recovering quickly”. What is important? There is an action. I am thinking that I am recovering not in 7 days but in 4 days. Or, for example, if a person needs to hold a presentation in 4 days what will he do? “I will recover in 4 days”.
Positive thinking: “I am recovering”. “What are you doing? – I am recovering.” – do you imagine people’s reaction?!)) One more variant, better suits for women: “I am getting myself in order”. (try to guess what a lady does: either making up in front of the mirror or recovering).
A couple of secrets, affirmations for manipura – prelum zone (confidence, effectiveness, etc.) works better if they are pronounced in a louder than usually voice, standing in front of the mirror in a business clothes. Affirmations for anahata – heart zone (love to oneself, calmness, empathy, etc.) work better when pronounced to oneself in comfortable surrounding and conditions (in the bath with warm water, soft arm chair).
Why did we decide to divide positive thinking into 3 variants?
Positive statements help to develop intellectual center – ajna, and muladhara. So what happens when we repeat an affirmation many times? It gets from consciousness to subconsciousness. If we created an affirmation in a right way, we spend hours for repeating it and the results are seen in some weeks or months.
Such thinking fits for people with leading zone of head. How will such person walk, let’s guess? With what part of body ahead? – Head. That is why if you know more than you can, so this work with affirmations fits you.
Positive attitude: we’ve told already that key phrases in positive attitude are: “I will be able”, “I will manage”, “I will do”, “I deserve”. One more component of positive attitude is will. “The man has said (affirmation in the mind), the man has done (positive attitude – level of stomach). Positive attitude helps people to develop effectiveness and fits those people who already able to act. That is why this method fits those who needs to be more operative or effective and those who is already effective to manage their effectiveness.
Can it be that a person can do something but he can not explain how he can do it. He can sell perfectly, he can communicate with people well, so other people ask him to teach how he can do this. And he says “Just see how I am doing this”. If self-confidence and effectiveness are already developed in us we begin to use positive attitude and we can already share the knowledge we use with others.
Positive thinking helps to develop such important quality as kindness – anahata. Our heart is in charge of love to ourselves, love to other people and to the whole world. We, basically, were taught to love… but not ourselves. Usually to love others. Positive thinking fits such people who want to develop kindness, love to oneself, to others, empathy. Those who treat people well can easily start their way to positive in their life. If they begin to hear their words and hear their thoughts than they can solve their problems easily and can easier reach their aims.
P.S. In psychology there are 2 basic approaches in personality development:
? The first one is more spread – it is a negative approach when a person fights with his negative qualities and flows. In this case a person can fight for a pretty long time. As, when one finished to fight with one negative quality, here appears another, and it continues constantly. In such case a person lives in a constant fight, in the fight … with himself. In the result of such fight such qualities as kindness, heartiness, and gratitude gradually decrease. And the ability to control, analyze increases but the shade of this is not so positive. As they think that they should learn to fight to be health and safe, or to be able to revenge the offender. But in the East they say that revenge is not the best motivation.
? The second approach is positive. A man using his strong qualities continues to develop a skill or ability the most important for him at that moment. In this case a person improving his positive qualities concentrates on positive, beautiful, filling his life with these very components (beauty, etc.). His flows decrease in this situation.
For example, a successful businessman made a good profit to your partner and you have two different feelings: the first – happiness for your partner’s success, the second – jealousy. Let’s imagine that you have 70% of happiness and 30% of jealousy. You can fight with the feelings that still exist. Jealousy, though less than earlier, is still present. In this case you start to fight with part of yourself even if this part is the energy of jealousy, and in the result of this fight you forget that initially there was more happiness than jealousy. This negative process influences destructively zone of heart, throat and groin. If a person increases his feeling of happiness realizing his jealousy, than happiness is approaching 100%, and in the process of increasing happiness you forget about jealousy. Besides, fighting with something inside yourself a man closes zones of heart, groin and backbone.
Only we decide how to think and how to live: in happiness or in sorrow.
